Jan 23, 2017 - Stockholm Public Library (1928) - Erik Gunnar Asplund This project is an entry for the 2006 international open design competition for an expansion to Asplund's early modern masterpiece, the Stockholm Public Library. Parallel bar buildings sited perpendicular to the street which Asplund envisioned in his masterplan (most of which was not built to his design) are here inverted from mass to void, reinterpreted as giant hollow structural elements. Stockholm City Library was created by world-famous architect Gunnar Asplund. The library has been listed as one of the world's most beautiful libraries.
